The Pisco Sapaq brand was founded in 2018 when the Yataco family, whose cellar is located in the Grocio Prado district, Chincha, decided to take up the challenge of rethinking their economic model to move from the production of artisanal pisco to the production of pisco premium.
Don Luis Enrique Yataco Saravia and Doña María Luisa de La Cruz have been producing artisanal pisco and wine for more than 20 years, thus continuing the family tradition.
In 2018, Hugo Yataco, nephew of Don Luis Enrique, visits Chincha as part of one of his sporting adventures and sees the opportunity to start an entrepreneurial project: sharing the Pisco to the world.
With more than 15 years of professional experience in companies, and ultra marathon runner, Hugo Yataco founded with his close friend and running partner Paul Caballero, Lares Food SAC, who would be responsible for supporting the improvement of the production process, sales and distribution. It starts with mechanizing the process and improving the selection of the raw material. The idea was to move from an artisanal concept to a boutique concept. Pisco Sapaq was thus born with the firm intention of becoming the best pisco boutique in Peru.
